Dallas holding company Uncommon Brands has purchased a 2.4-acre tract on West Lee Drive near Burbank Drive—the future home to a Tex-Mex chain’s first Louisiana restaurant.
The holding company bought the land through Fuego Propco LLC from Asteronne LLC for $1.5 million, according to a deal filed Wednesday with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s office.
Price LeBlanc Jr. represented the seller and Uncommon Brands CEO Garrett Mills represented the buyer.
In January, the Planning Commission unanimously approved plans for the proposed Fuego Tortilla Grill location. The restaurant will be roughly 3,800 square feet, according to the application submitted to the commission.
The Fuego Tortilla Grill property is adjacent to a roughly 1-acre tract that Dorsey Development purchased from Asteronne LLC for $1 million in January to be the site of a Starbucks.
Uncommon Brands was formed in December 2023 after acquiring Fuego Tortilla Grill for an undisclosed amount. The restaurant chain currently has four locations, all in Texas.
