Operation Catahoula Crunch: Federal agents arrived in New Orleans on Wednesday, the latest focus of the Trump administration’s strengthened immigration enforcement. The Department of Homeland Security said agents would be targeting immigrants who are in the U.S. without authorization and who have a criminal history. The operation is likely to be similar to other immigration sweeps in Los Angeles, Chicago and Charlotte, North Carolina that have been part of President Trump’s promise to conduct the largest domestic deportation operation in American history. Hyperion connection: Morgan Stanley, one of the key players in financing the artificial intelligence race, is considering offloading some of its data center exposure via a so-called significant risk transfer. The bank in October arranged over $27 billion of debt and about $2.5 billion of equity financing for a special-purpose vehicle tied to the development of Meta Platforms Inc.’s Hyperion data-center site in Richland Parish.
