U.S. airlines and airports are gearing up for their busiest Labor Day weekend ever, Inc. Magazine reports.
A record number of travelers are packing their bags and preparing to squeeze one last summer trip in before the season comes to a close.
Some 17 million people are expected to go through airport security this Labor Day weekend, which runs from Thursday, Aug. 29, to Wednesday, Sept. 4. That’s the busiest Labor Day weekend on record and an 8.5% jump compared to last year, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
“People are traveling more than ever this summer,” TSA Administrator David Pekoske says. “TSA along with our airline and airport partners stand ready to close the busiest summer travel period on record.”
