A team of LSU researchers has been tapped to help the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps move beyond relying on a few large vessels, instead emphasizing a distributed network of smaller naval platforms, LSU announced Monday.
The project, titled “Intelligent Data Management for Distributed Naval Platforms,” is funded by a nearly $10 million grant from the Office of Naval Research and is the result of LSU’s collaboration with Integer Technologies, a South Carolina-based science and technology serving national security customers.
Integer has established an office on LSU’s campus so that engineers and scientists from both teams can closely collaborate on the project.
