More transparency: Entergy Louisiana has agreed to expand access to highly confidential information in its power expansion case tied to Meta’s Richland Parish data center, allowing seven consumer advocates to review protected materials and their experts’ testimony. However, the groups still cannot access Meta records supporting projected jobs, investment and electricity demand. Nations misusing Claude: Anthropic says its Claude AI model has been misused by users in countries including Russia, China, Iran and Yemen for potential military, biological weapons, surveillance and hacking applications. The company identified attempts involving kamikaze drone swarms, missile development, biological research and large-scale phone surveillance, though it said there is no evidence some of the efforts produced operational weapons. Easing of restrictions: The TSA is beginning to ease some post-9/11 travel restrictions as improved security technology allows travelers at some airports to keep their shoes on and their liquids in their bags during screening. A new “gateside” program also allows eligible trusted travelers to access secure gate areas without a boarding pass at 13 U.S. airports, restoring the ability to greet or accompany passengers beyond security.
