Dumpling Hour, an Asian-fusion restaurant that began in Lafayette, has opened a location in Baton Rouge at 7474 Corporate Blvd., Suite 307, 225 reports.
The restaurant, Dumpling Hour’s third in Louisiana, opened Sept. 2 and is known for its handmade dumplings, which are made with fresh ingredients and prepared by the chef each day. Customers can choose from steamed, pan-fried and soup dumplings.
The menu combines classic Chinese Szechuan dishes with creative Cajun-inspired items, including Asian cracklin chicken, a Best Stop boudin pancake and a Louisiana crawfish and pork rice wrap.
The Baton Rouge location, which previously housed a Serop’s, has plenty of seating and large tables that provide room for shared dishes. QR codes at each table also allow customers to view photos of the menu items. Manager Corinna Wang, who has more than 12 years of restaurant experience, says she was drawn to Dumpling Hour because it is a family-run business.
The restaurant is expected to remain in its soft-opening phase for about a month as it gradually adds more menu items and works toward full operation. It is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
