From one startup to the next: Michael Scarbrough keeps building

    At 18, Michael Scarbrough caught the startup bug, and he’s never looked back. 

    The serial entrepreneur has launched, bought and sold businesses across south Louisiana, from a Maurepas restaurant to a golf ball refurbishing company to Green Heart Meals. 

    Now, he’s betting on his latest venture, United Supply Agency, a personal protective equipment supplier he co-founded in 2022. The company has doubled its revenue every year since launch, fueled largely by word-of-mouth referrals, direct-from-manufacturer sourcing and a commitment to answering the phone when customers need help. 

    Scarbrough says he plans to keep growing the company, along with his real estate and investment business, for years to come. But his definition of success extends beyond the bottom line. He’s also making time for his children and mentoring the next generation of aspiring entrepreneurs. 

    For Scarbrough, the lesson is simple: If you feel a calling to build something of your own, don’t be afraid to take the leap.
