A long-delayed Amazon data center project in west Shreveport is back on track after a Caddo Parish judge dismissed legal challenges that had stalled development for three months, The Center Square writes.
The ruling clears the way for a special use permit tied to the multibillion dollar project at Resilient Technology Park, a site expected to bring significant investment, jobs and sales tax revenue to the region. The decision affirms the City Council’s earlier approval, which overrode an initial rejection from the Planning Commission.
While Amazon has not disclosed exact costs for this site, similar projects in the area have carried price tags of roughly $6 billion each, adding to a broader $12 billion regional commitment.
Opponents, including environmental groups, argue the project lacks transparency and are weighing an appeal. Still, the ruling marks a major step forward for one of north Louisiana’s largest economic development opportunities, as local leaders look to capitalize on growing demand for large-scale cloud infrastructure.
