LBTC firms raise $10.75 million in 2012
Tenant companies at LSU's Louisiana Business & Technology Center raised $10.75 million in equity in 2012, with another $5 million in investments being considered. LBTC also has assisted clients in winning $31.6 million in federal Small Business Innovation Research awards over the past four years. That's according to information presented by LBTC Advisory Board Chairman Thomas Cotten at the tech center's 24th anniversary celebration Wednesday evening. Inventherm, which is developing a compressor for portable medical applications such as respirators, was named Tenant Company of the Year. Loupe Theory Studios, a commercial video production company, was named Student Incubator Company of the Year. Geoshield Window Films, which distributes its product globally from its LBTC location, was named International Company of the Year.
