Applications available for leadership program
The Baton Rouge Area Chamber is accepting applications for its 2013 Baton Rouge Area Leadership Program. Founded in 1985, the leadership program has graduated more than 900 professionals into leadership positions ranging from boards and commissions to state and city offices. Graduates leave the nine months of training—complete with a weekend retreat in May and graduation ceremony in June—knowledgeable on issues the region faces. With a view to cultivating leadership potential, a selection committee in July recommends 30 to 35 candidates for the program, based on occupation, gender, race, age and other affiliations. Mary Beth Chevalier heads up the program. A list of the program's 2012 graduates can be found at brac.org. The deadline for Class of 2013 applications is June 29. Applications can be found here.
