Two new stores are set to open in Perkins Rowe this week, while the property managers are searching for a tenant to replace White House Black Market after the clothing store exercised an opt-out clause in its lease in October.

Orange Beach, Alabama-based Shades Sunglasses and Casual Apparel will open this week in a 3,000-square-foot space between Kendra Scott Jewelry and Francesca’s. Drybar Baton Rouge, a hair salon and blow dry bar, will open Friday with 13 stylist chairs in a 1,900-square-foot space, says Donna Taylor, senior vice president of asset management and new business for Stirling Properties, which handles leasing and management at Perkins Rowe.

The other businesses set to open in Perkins Rowe in the coming months are Hair Club for Men, which is expected to open in a 2,000-square-foot space above California Pizza Kitchen in January, and Kinnucan’s Specialty Outfitters, which will open in a 10,000-square-foot space in April or May.

Stirling Properties received the permit one week ago to begin $1 million worth of renovations to the 10,350-square-foot space for Kinnucan’s. Taylor says the buildout should be completed by the end of March.

While those businesses are opening, White House Black Market shuttered its doors in October amid nationwide closings as its parent company, Chico’s FAS, restructures its business model.

Taylor says they have not nailed down a new tenant for that spot, but have several interested parties for that space and the handful of vacant spaces throughout Perkins Rowe.

“We have a lot of tenants in the hopper,” Taylor says.
