Health Tip of the Week: When should you worry about peeing during the night?

Sponsored by Baton Rouge General

Nighttime peeing – called nocturia – gets more common with age, but it shouldn’t keep you up all night. One trip is typical, two is common, and more than two is your sign to pay closer attention. Sometimes the issue is sleep, not your bladder. Simple habit tweaks can help: drink more during the day and less after dinner, skip evening caffeine and alcohol, elevate your legs before bed, and use the bathroom right before lights out. If you’re regularly up three or more times, or have burning or urgency, check in with your doctor. Relief is absolutely possible.
