Roundup: Lamar’s new CFO / Turner Industries a top contractor / Ochsner opens extension

    Changes: Lamar Advertising Co. announced the hiring of Jay Johnson as its CFO, effective Oct. 1. Johnson, currently the CFO at DiamondRock Hospitality Company, will succeed Keith Istre, who announced in January his plans to retire later this year. Johnson, a Bastrop native, received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in economics from Morehouse College. Read Lamar’s full announcement.

    Moving up: Turner Industries jumped one spot to number 30 on Engineering News-Record’s 2019 Top 400 Contractors List. The national rankings are based on 2018 revenue. Turner Industries is the only Louisiana-based company to make it in the top 50. Engineering News-Record is an American weekly magazine that provides news, analysis, data and opinion for the construction industry. See the full list.  

    Expansion open: Ochsner Medical Complex is opening the new surgical building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning. Construction began on the more than $100 million surgical addition in 2017, and it includes four operating rooms, ten recovery rooms, and 24 pre-and post-operation rooms.
