The HR Academy, presented by Greater Baton Rouge SHRM and Business Report, is designed for human resource professionals ready to sharpen their skills, strengthen their leadership and lead confidently in today’s evolving workplace. This immersive program delivers practical, accredited training that equips participants with real-world tools and modern strategies to elevate their impact across their organizations.

The inaugural HR Academy kicks off February 25, 2026.

HR feels more complicated than ever, and this program gives people the practical tools and support they actually need,” says Meagan West, immediate past president of GBR SHRM. “The HR Academy is built for real workplaces and real challenges. It’s a chance to learn, grow, and connect with a community that helps you lead with confidence.”
