Chevron’s expanded renewable diesel refinery in Geismar has ramped up production while increasing its economic footprint in Ascension Parish, according to plant manager Zac Leeth.
In a recent interview with Ascension Business Report, Leeth discussed the expansion’s impact, which increased the facility’s annual renewable diesel production capacity from 90 million gallons to 340 million gallons.
The plant now has more than 160 Chevron employees and about 350 workers overall, with the expansion adding more than 100 jobs. Leeth says the project also generated a broader economic impact during construction, when more than 1,500 people worked at the site over roughly 2½ years.
