New development coming to Burbank by South Kenilworth

Editor’s note: This story has been updated since it was originally published to show that the two properties south of Burbank Drive and west of South Kenilworth Parkway, are being developed by Two Blind Mice LLC, not CSRS.

A 33.5-acre subdivision is in the works for south Baton Rouge. CSRS engineers and project manager Joseph Yarbrough, who are involved with the project, could not reached before deadline for more information.

The tract needs to be rezoned from rural to residential, and is proposed to be split for residential building on lots around 6,250 square feet, according to the rezoning application.

In May, the Planning Commission approved rezoning two parcels adjacent to the proposed subdivision: six acres were rezoned as commercial and another 10 acres were reclassified for residential use,

The properties, located south of Burbank Drive and west of South Kenilworth Parkway, are being developed by Two Blind Mice LLC, according to the rezoning applications. CSRS is serving as the engineer for the properties.

The subdivision’s rezoning application will go before the Baton Rouge Planning Commission on Sept. 16.
