Wednesday: The public is invited to attend a regulatory roundtable hosted by the Office of Advocacy of the Small Business Administration. The event will take place at 8 a.m. at the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry Conference Center, 3113 Valley Creek Drive. The event is intended to help the SBA’s Office of Advocacy gain insight into which federal regulations present the biggest barriers to small business growth. The office will use the recommendations to assist federal agencies in complying with President Donald Trump’s directives to reduce burdensome regulations. Register and get more information. June 15: BREC has scheduled a public meeting for residents to weigh in on the agency’s plans to relocate the Baton Rouge Zoo and revitalize Greenwood Park. The session will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, at the Womack Ballroom, 6201 Florida Blvd. Attendees can hear a presentation from BREC Superintendent Carolyn McKnight, submit questions to the staff and comment on the plan. For those who are unable to attend in person, the meeting will be streamed live on BREC’s website and broadcast on Facebook Live. Viewers also can submit questions during the meeting on BREC’s Facebook page—@brecparks—or any time leading up to June 15 by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org. Aug. 8: LSU Executive Education has rescheduled its upcoming “Real Estate Trends in the Capital Region,” Breakfast to Business event. The event was originally schedule for June 13, but will now take place in August. Registration remains open. The program will focus on the changing real estate dynamics in the Capital Region and across the nation. Cost to attend is $25. Breakfast to Business will take place in classroom 1420 at LSU’s Business Education Complex, 4005 Nicholson Drive Extension.
