Trees will soon line slimmed-down Government Street

As the $11.7 million Government Street Road Diet project nears its end, with the state department of transportation estimating a midsummer completion date, the city-parish is beginning a beautification phase of the project that involves planting dozens of trees in the tree wells that line both sides of the newly overhauled thoroughfare.
