Lenovo login loophole: Hackers compromised roughly 5,000 Dropbox accounts by exploiting a Lenovo ID login pathway, particularly accounts without two-factor authentication. Dropbox said files in fewer than one-third of the affected accounts were accessed, and it has since revoked Lenovo-linked sessions, disconnected the accounts and added password verification. Slight bump: Weekly unemployment claims rose slightly to 206,000 from a revised 204,000 the week before, but layoffs remain historically low and the unemployment rate is still relatively low at 4.1%. At the same time, hiring has slowed sharply, creating a “no hire, no fire” labor market where existing workers have job security but unemployed and young workers struggle to find jobs.
