Future Use of Energy in Louisiana, known as FUEL, is investing $800,000 in Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges to enhance and expand energy-related education and workforce programs at community colleges across Louisiana.
This one-year investment is the first part of an expected multiyear commitment to create a scholarship program that will increase Louisiana residents’ access to high-wage, high-demand jobs in the state’s growing energy sector.
In addition to the scholarship program, FUEL, which is funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation and LED, will support continued curriculum development at community colleges to build workforce skills needed in the energy industry. The investment builds on FUEL’s previous support for energy education and workforce development, including a $100,000 FUEL Scale award to River Parishes Community College in 2025. It also reflects FUEL’s commitment to helping LCTC serve nontraditional learners pursuing degrees or certifications in energy-related programs.
