If the grass is greener on the other side of your fence, perhaps it’s time to call one of the numerous young entrepreneurs who operate a lawn-care business. Of the 40 young entrepreneurs submitted to Business Report for this story, 11 of them offer lawn services.

Like Tyler McGee, who has been mowing lawns since he was 12. McGee was called “the most determined, enterprising, tenacious, committed and hard-working young man I have ever known” in an e-mail from J. Michael Robinson.

Or Ben Kees, who has been mowing lawns since he was 14. Kees’ mother, Wynette, says she has never had to pay for Ben’s phone bill, car note, insurance and rent and says Ben paid for his final two years of college.

Or Richard Matthews, who has been operating a lawn service for two years. Matthews is dyslexic, but his mother, Kathy, says that has “never let it stop him from achieving his goals” and calls her son “a total package: a good kid, self-motivated, generous and has a strong work ethic.”

The following young entrepreneurs were submitted for their work in the lawn-care industry:

Ben Arceneaux

Cody Braud

Brandon Brignac

Joel Jenkins

Ben Kees

Richard Matthews

Tyler McGee

Mitchell Meredith

Matthew Morris

Tanner Persac

Jeffrey Seeger
