Real estate is dynamic. I love the “art” of the deal.
What is your greatest professional accomplishment?
Negotiating the purchase of one of the largest tracts of land (220 acres) to one of the finest birthing hospitals in the United States.
What was your first job?
Eight years old pulling weeds out of flowers beds at Community Coffee for $.25/hour.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
To always seek advice from smart people. I continue to do that, even today.
Who do you most admire in the local business community and why?
I can pick up the phone and call just about any president of a company here and they will return the call. Baton Rouge has always been a level playing field.
If you could have any job other than your own, what would it be?
VP of Quality Control for TABASCO® Pepper Sauces
What is the greatest personal or professional obstacle you've overcome?
Transitioning my residential division in 2007 to a conscientious owner with similar culture and core values.
If you started over, what would you do differently?
Offer ownership to those who are willing to share in the risks and rewards of a business.
What is your prescription for life?
Work hard and play hard. Do everything in moderation.

One-on-one time with my 4-year old daughter, Maddox; watch a movie late at night; race sailboats whenever I can; and honey-dos.

Real estate, of course.

Sailing or golf.

Loss of good public education.
