Accounting

Pamela Landry joined LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand CPAs as senior accountant in the accounting consulting services department. She has more than 20 years’ experience in tax, consulting, accounting and audit, specializing in working with law firms and supervising staff accountants.

Theresa Lawhon joined LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand as staff accountant in the accounting consulting services department. Lawhon has more than 25 years’ experience in accounting and bookkeeping.

Education

Virginia Monceret was named director of development at False River Academy in New Roads. She will develop annual giving as well as a capital campaign to raise funds for the school. Monceret, a Northwestern State graduate, previously served as a mortgage broker for HomeCourt Mortgage in Baton Rouge.

Financial and Insurance

Angie Barnes was named customer service manager of federal employee programs for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana. Barnes is responsible for setting organizational goals and performance measures, implementing changes to procedures, guidelines and benefits and overseeing the daily operations of customer service.

Government

Bill Benedetto joined Robert Rose Consulting as vice president of governmental affairs. Benedetto previously served as regional manager for Entergy. He is vice chairman of the BREC Commission and formerly served as chairman of the board of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber.

Industry

Lisa D. Smith joined Aquaterra Engineering as client services manager for the west region. Smith is responsible for marketing and business development to facilitate the company’s rapid growth model. She previously served as director of program development for a transportation and planning firm.

Law

Shelton Dennis Blunt was named partner in the litigation practice group at Phelps Dunbar’s Baton Rouge office. Blunt focuses primarily on business disputes, including torts and insurance company solvency and regulations.

Mary Anne Wolf has been named partner in the law firm of Keogh, Cox & Wilson. Wolf’s areas of practice include construction law, professional liability of design professionals and products liability. She is also a licensed engineer.

Nonprofit

Geoff Jorgensen was named business unit manager for small accounts production team for Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation. Jorgensen is responsible for managing a multifunctional team consisting of underwriting, customer service and administration. He previously served as an underwriting specialist at LWCC.
