I have a passion and a determination to create and/or redesign public schools so that children and families can choose a learning place that ensures student achievement.

“Just because someone doesn’t do something as you would doesn’t mean that what s/he is doing it bad; it’s just not how you would do it.”
If you could have any job other than your own, what would it be?
Anthropologist
What is the greatest personal or professional obstacle you've overcome?
Certainly while dealing with both is emotionally exhausting, each brings its own challenges; they feel the same and they are different. Personal: death of my brother, professional: sexual harassment in the work place
If you started over, what would you do differently?
I would shed some of my naiveté.

Insist upon a good education; don’t be afraid to take risks; forgive others as you would want them to forgive you.

That other cities begin to “canvas” here because they want to know what is our secret for success in community development.

Those who don’t want us to progress will prevail over those of us who do.
