A cable outage wiped out most Cox Communications channels to nearly all of the company's 180,000 Baton Rouge subscribers for more than three hours this morning. Cox officials say they're still trying to find out what caused the outage, which affected all of the system's channels except for its high-definition tier and its OnDemand service. The outage started at about 5:30 a.m. and was cleared up by 8:45 a.m. Most customers should have service restored by now, except for some scattered isolated cases. The cable system apologized for the outage, which came at a bad time for many subscribers who watch morning news while getting ready for work or school.
