Brian Dantin developed two LSU-area condominium projects that sold quickly and won awards from the Baton Rouge Growth Coalition. But now, he’s in charge of a project on a much bigger scale.

Dantin, a Baton Rouge native who earned a marketing degree from LSU, was hired by Mike Wampold to be the every-day developer of The Crescent condominiums, an $80 million project that’s being built on Stanford Avenue.

For the past three and a half years, Dantin has handled such tasks as hiring the interior designers and the architects for the Crescent, applying for the permits to build the 160-unit development and supervising the sales team that’s marketing the project.

“This is a huge undertaking,” Dantin says. “We’re dealing with people from all over the U.S. who are looking at this.”

Dantin has been developing property around Baton Rouge for nearly four years. He got his start with the Parker Place condominiums at Highland and West Parker.

“I feel very fortunate to have learned the development and real estate business from some of the top people in this town, like Mike Wampold, Princeton Bardwell and Mike Falgoust,” he says. “They really took me under their wings.”

Along with his real estate activities, Dantin is a volunteer with Heritage Ranch, a program that teaches life skills to middle school students and is trying to build a Christian home for troubled and abused children.

The Crescent is scheduled to open in January, and 118 units have been sold so far, with an average price of $500,000. Dantin says he’s got plans for other projects.

“I own other land around Baton Rouge,” he says. “So I’m going to continue doing developments.”

What was your first job?

“I was a bus boy at Ninfa’s, which was the longest three weeks of my life.”
