Breaux Nader

Breaux Nader

Breaux Nader developed a lot of the skills he uses as a financial consultant while playing sports. “Being a team player, persevering through difficulty, overcoming challenges, competing for business,” he says. “I learned these things on the football field under the tutelage of coaches and alongside my teammates.”

It’s not surprising that sports play such a big role in Nader’s life. His father, Sam, has worked in the LSU athletic department for more than 30 years. And after graduating from Louisiana Tech with a bachelor’s in English and history, Nader spent seven years as the north Louisiana director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, based in Ruston.

In 2002, Nader and his family moved back to Baton Rouge out of a desire to raise his four daughters near their grandparents in the same city where he grew up. An FCA board member suggested he apply for a job with A.G. Edwards as a financial consultant. Since then, Nader has risen to co-branch manager.

It may seem like quite a jump to go from being a role model for young athletes to handling people’s money, but Nader says there are a lot of similarities.

“That job involved me gaining people’s trust and being a good steward with the funds they donated to ministry,” he says. “That’s what I do now. I earn people’s trust and am a good steward with the assets they commit to me.”

Nader might spend his days in the business world, but he still has ties with his faith, serving as a local volunteer with FCA and teaching Sunday school at the Chapel on the Campus.

What is the best advice you ever received?

“Always treat other people the way you want to be treated, the Golden Rule. I was taught that as a child, and it was modeled for me by my parents. That’s a guiding principle for me, and it’s never steered me wrong.”
