Eaton Corp., ABB Group to relocate offices to new $5.7M warehouse off Airline
Pinnacle Warehousing has plans to build a 99,000-square-foot office warehouse facility on Manchac Park Lane, off Airline Highway, that will open in the fall. According to plan review applications filed with the city-parish Department of Public Works, the project will cost over $5.7 million.
A Pinnacle spokesperson says the company began planning the building without first securing a tenant, believing that the shortage of Class A office space in the Capital Region would provide enough demand to make the building a sound investment.
The gamble seems to have paid off, as the building is already fully occupied, according to the spokesperson.
Eaton Corporation, a global power management company, will relocate its Industriplex Boulevard-area offices to the new location, where it will fill over 24,000 square feet of the space.
ABB Group, an automation technology and industrial motor company, will move from its offices in Prairieville. Both companies have outgrown their current spaces, the spokesperson says.
Both Eaton and ABB approached Pinnacle during the design phase of the facility.
According to an economic outlook put together by the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, the lack of office space on the market could be an obstacle in attracting companies to the region to support the ongoing industrial boom. —Kelly Connelly
