Chick-fil-A plans to open its first Prairieville location
Chick-fil-A is poised to open its seventh Capital Region restaurant and first in Prairieville, but possibly not until 2014. A company spokesman confirms to Daily Report that the Atlanta-based chain is planning a Prairieville location, but says it's too early in the process to discuss a specific timeline for an opening. According to permit applications filed with local and state offices, the restaurant is planned to be at 15055 Airline Hwy., placing it near the intersection with Germany Road. "I can confirm that we are excited about coming to Prairieville. … At this time, it's too early to communicate a projected opening date," says Chick-fil-A spokesman Bernard Hendrix in an email. Hendrix adds that the company should have more information on the new restaurant's timeline in about six months, which suggests the opening could occur at the earliest late this year. All six existing Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Capital Region are located in Baton Rouge. —Matthew Sigur
