Former LSU running back and College Football Hall-of-Famer Charles Alexander isn’t content to just be a living legend—he’s also become an entrepreneur, launching a new line of Cajun seasoning for home cooks in his home state. Called C’Mon Man All-Purpose Cajun Seasoning, it’s making its way onto grocers’ shelves in the Baton Rouge area. "I’ve always loved to cook," Alexander explains, "and this was a way for me to grow my hobby into a business." The seasoning has lower sodium than many of the leading brands, and is heavier on the peppery, spicy flavor. "If you like spicy, you’ll like C’Mon Man," laughs Alexander. "It doesn’t take a lot to get it going. I tell people to use their left hand rather than their right so they don’t put too much on." Alexander is also developing a line of C’Mon Man Fish Fry and a Crab, Shrimp and Crawfish Boil that will be available to purchase in the near future. In the meantime, if you want to try it out for your Memorial Day grill, grab a can at Ralph’s Market (Map it!) and the LSU Co-Op Book Store (Map it!). —Rachael Upton

Bad Guys, Good Eats! Pop-Up Dinner at Restaurant IPO
Chef and 225 contributor Jay D. Ducote and Chef Chris Wadsworth hosted the Bad Guys, Good Eats! dinner at Restaurant IPO Wednesday night. The dinner was themed around famous movie villains, pairing cocktails and ales with plates of food resembling famous baddies like The Joker, Lord Voldemort, Hannibal Lector, and many others. The highlights of the night were the three middle courses—a black bean soup laced with blood sausage to signify Lord Voldemort, a brace of coneys on black eyed peas resembling Sauron, and lamb medallions atop a fava bean puree to pay homage to the famous favorite of Hannibal Lector.
