Raising Cane's pledges BR Walls match as fund drive enters final days
Todd Graves, founder of Raising Cane's, says he'll fully fund the painting of a downtown wall as part of the BR Walls Project if an online fundraising goal of $25,000 is met by Thursday's deadline. As of this morning, 268 donors had given $20,385 toward the goal. The BR Walls project aims to cover bare walls with murals in downtown Baton Rouge, but it will be scrapped if the online fundraising goal is not met. "We are thrilled to see such an exciting project come to life in our hometown," says Graves in a news release. "Artists, community leaders and businesses are working together to beautify Baton Rouge, and the crew at Cane's is proud to be a part of that progress." BR Walls Project supporters are hosting an all-day telethon in the lobby of Hotel Indigo downtown from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday to help the project reach its goal.
