Real estate recap: Investar Bank plans Denham Springs location Trahan Architects opens Chicago office
Moving into Livingston: Investar Bank says it plans to start building a branch on Range Avenue in Denham Springs. Plans are to build the 3,000-square-foot branch on the site just south of the old Blockbuster building. Investar, which bought the site in September, hopes to have the location open in the first half of 2011. The Denham Springs location will serve as a training facility for new employees. Investar says it intends to open a temporary Denham Springs branch at another location within a month.
Moving into architecture center: Trahan Architects has opened a Chicago office in an effort to bring in more national and international business. Leigh Breslau, who was a design partner with the prestigious firm of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, will lead the office. Trey Trahan says he met Breslau about five years ago, when they were on a design jury. "He said he loved our work and wanted to be a part of it," Trahan says. Trahan Architects/Chicago will be working on the Shakespeare Theatre at Navy Pier in Chicago. Trahan says he hopes to have 20 to 50 employees working in the Chicago office within the next five years.
